Weight Loss

The key to leading a well life is ensuring that you maintain a weight that is in sync with your height and age. Body Mass Index is one way to measure this, however the importance of the ratio of fat to water and muscle is vital to maintaining a healthy weight.

Weight loss alone doesn't ensure wellness; its important to view weight loss as part of overall health, and this is why it's important to have the correct medical management through blood tests, cardiovascular assessments and hormonal balances. By working closely with our medical partners and our trainers, we are able to create an effective approach to weight loss and fitness.

Personal Training

This area of fitness involves patient-specific fitness programs provided by our team of highly qualified trainers who are able to take into account previous medical and spine and joint problems to ensure no worsening of the patients condition will occur.

Our gyms form a type of 'half-way house' to educate our patients about the correct exercise programs for their specific conditions.

Pilates

Pilates is a body conditioning routine that may help build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, and developing a strong core or center, and improving coordination and balance. Pilates' system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginning to advanced. Intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises.

Part of our philosophy of wellness is that a suitable exercise program needs to be patient-specific which means Pilates may be a more suitable program for our patients to take up to ensure overall spinal and joint strength and control.

Maintenace Care

This refers to ensuring that patients spines and joints are regularly checked to ensure they maintain well aligned, healthy and strong and that patient-specific plans are followed and adhered to. In the same way a patient may visit a dentist every 3 months to pick up early cavities or even to have the teeth cleaned, we apply the same philosophy to spine and joint care so that our patients can recover and maintain their state of "wellness".
